Multiple issues. 1. Removed tube before removing needle. 2. Hover the gauze before applying pressure. Remove the needle first then apply pressure.

Pull the skin down and hold it while inserting the needle. It anchors the vein in place. Pinch both wings together and insert.

Always pop the tube to release the vacuum PRIOR to removing the needle. Otherwise it was pretty decent

In my phlebotomy class I was taught not to put the tube in prior to your venipuncture because the air bubbles would affect the specimen.

The thing I hate the most is when they snap the safety on BEFORE taking the needle out of your arm. Like OUCH

Butterflies are made to be retracted as you are pulling it out of the pt vein! A lot less self needle pokes that way 😌

Hold the gauze and the wing of the butterfly 🫳🏻and then pull the needle carefully , or even if u have a butterfly with button it’s way easier
