If I do caulk I’ll use clear silicone. No caulk on my home, only inspection is mine😁. White looks bad after awhile.

You have to caulk the base but have to make sure the main drain and floor are water seal not a hole and litel wax gasket...check the codes 50y in trad

Some old buildings in HI have wall mount toilet with wax rings. When temps get hot, those wax ring get melty and fail. 🤮
