@leadershipmel: 5 steps to manage imposter syndrome. A lot of really seasoned, senior people tell me they have imposter syndrome … and they say it’s just a fact of life, and something they have no control over. But the truth is you have total control over imposter syndrome because … … first of all, imposter syndrome …not a syndrome. A syndrome are medical symptoms that are a sign of a disorder. You don’t have a disorder. What you have is a perfectly operating human brain. second. Your brain is only feeding you thoughts like “you’re not qualified …. you're going to get found out” because you keep doing all this incredible stuff and your brain is scared you’re going to blow it - so it feeds you these thoughts in the hope that you’ll slow down and stop being amazing. third. What you need to remember is just b/c your brain is telling you ‘you’re not qualified’ to do something, doesn’t make it true. Sometimes your brain just likes to con you to see what works to keep you from taking action. four. The easiest way to deal with these ‘imposter syndrome” thoughts is not to stop them. You don’t have to stop them. Let them be there. You can simply stop believing them. And finally, the best way to stop believing them is the next time you have an imposter thought… just ask yourself if it’s true. Is it true you’re not qualified for your job? And you and I both know the answer is you’re more than qualified. So stop telling yourself you have imposter syndrome and get out there and be fucking amazing. #leadershipt#leadershiptok #leadership##bealeaders#leadershipskillso#executivecoachi#corporatelifeo#successincorporatei#worklifen#impostersyndrome #selfdoubt#confidencedence
