Tip, paint the timing mark slot with white out or yellow paint to highlight the marking as well as the 10 degree mark on the timing tab

Clean the air valve it will idle better and if it doesn’t get a new one it’s called an iac idle air control

wait sorry I said the valve was stuck open thay doesn't make sense now that I think about it. but ya someone has definitely adjusted the throttle

base sounds like it has a vacuum leak. would explain the cold start issue and high idle.

I try to bump the ignition till I can see the timing mark and put just a dab of white paint then wipe off excess makes reading them much much easier

take off the IAC and you can usually clean them with some carb cleaner and free it up, sounds like it's stuck open
