I’ve honestly never had a problem with Rhode Island reds, the ones I was always with loved to be picked up lol, they’d sit when you’d go up to them

Australorps! They’re easy to pick up and great layers. Ameraucanas for blue eggs and they’re always personable. Actually liked to be held.

Chickens temperaments don’t really depend on breed other than silkies. Pecking orders are established that have nothing to do with the breed.
