it's the same here in Belgium, up to 100000€ is insured....

Here in the US, most banks will only insure $250,000 per bank. That's not a lot of money.

UK is per a/c in each banking group. Not per bank. Many banks in each group

also the bank will take all £100k and your £85k is insured by govt. There's no way Govt. will be able to cover everyone if there's a bail in

don't forget banks own other banks and you're only covered for the one bank.
