do not do that. throw that oil & powder away. Instead clean it properly and remove that build up and apply a good conditioner

Are we riding saddle horses, or broncs! Never have I EVER seen anyone do that to a ranch saddle. Only bronc saddles.

the stick is from build up of sweat and dirt on the existing oil it came with ... I'd rather not add a sand like product on-top of grim🤷🏼♀️

I oil mine up and it has not stick to it. I just always wipe off all the excess and let it sit for a day or two before I use it and it never sticks.

Saddle soap. Scrub and clean. Let dry. Then personally I like to light oil and use Aussie saddle conditioner.

Tack tip of the day for you / your latigo is not tied on very securely. Also if your latigo is sticky clean and oil it. Do not chuck baby powder on it
