They both hurt her and she won't forgive them for that BUT the "I'm not going to forgive you for what you did" is not a bad thing contrary to what many people in this fandom think (/nbr btw), it depends on each person to forgive someone for the harm they caused us, whether this harm was done with bad intentions or without realizing what they were doing, it's okay not to forgive but it's not right to live with resentment It's up to us how we deal with our pain, it's up to us if we stay stuck in it or if we move on. Ctimene lived resentful for a while, yes, but then she realized that it wasn't taking her anywhere and that within her pain there was something else. I've already talked about the pain of memories, how it hurts to remember that important person, those moments that we can't repeat and that part of our identity that was taken away from us. But, within that pain there is something beautiful which is appreciation, we appreciate those moments, those people who were with us and the impact they had on our lives and identity. I'm not a fan of the idea of Ctimene getting married again tbh, I have the idea that she used her art to be able to tell the story of her husband and those of those men who couldn't get home. She wasn't the only one devastated by that news, many families were in bad shape and she helped everyone to be remembered with honor, Odysseus help her! Even though she didn't forgive him, they both understood their positions and learned to move forward, obviously the relationship is no longer the same as it was 20 years ago and that's okay! Sometimes things change and it will depend on us how we accept that change.
