@andy_highlander: This is the Wishing Stone at Dunino Church. While the present building dates from 1826, the site itself has been a place of worship for perhaps a thousand years or more. The mossy wishing stone is evidence of this. Standing by the southern wall of the wee cemetery, the sculpted boulder is thought to date from the 9th century. In 1698 a crude sundial was carved on the top, although it is now concealed by offerings of coins and other trinkets which are left by visitors.
