The smell is built up soap residue! This is great, and you can also try washing a giant load of bathtowels on hot setting (no chems), back to back 3 times and it breaks down soap build-up that smells

does anyone know why the washer is putting stains on everything. I know it's probably the water but I'm not sure if it's something else. it's almost like the tide stains but clear and dark spots.
