I’ve used that scale for IFR hose inspections on 130s. Never used it for engine changes though

I've never pulled a 737 engine but have installed several and theres 3 scales. 2 forward, 1 aft, the forward has to read 3500lbs and 1800lbs aft.

To let you know you are not up against the mount. If the scale goes up when lifting the engine in place, you’re up against something & not lined up

on my engine we just have a hoist that goes incredibly slow to lift our engines in the nacelle

Changed multiple engines. It helps when mounting side Mount engines so you know you have the weight and not the mounting bolts.
