@itsonuh: I am not encouraging anyone to break city rules but this is a really valuable tool for those among us who may be interested in trying to keep a rooster without disturbing nearby neighbors. . The unfortunate reality is that the vast majority of roosters either get dumped or get put down/eaten because of their crowing. There are MANY benefits to keeping a rooster and I believe this to be a humane way of allowing them to live a healthy and fulfilling life- possibly in places where they wouldn't normally be allowed! . When applied safely, these collars do not impede the rooster's ability to crow, mate, eat, drink, dust bathe & live a happy life. They don't love it at first as they get used to it, but it's a much kinder option than the stew pot ❤️ #chickens #chickentok #homestead #urbanhomestead #backyardchickens #backyardchickenlady

I loved the rooster collar and it worked amazing, until the city came around and saw my rooster I was so sad when they told me to get rid of him.

I did that to my rooster. My neighbor got upset and said they liked to hear him in the morning during coffee. I removed crow collar. 😁

Just keep an eye on him if he gets worked up. Mine worked himself up so much he couldn’t breathe. It was scary for both of us.

My city bans roos and only allows 3 hens. I have 14 hens and a Silkie roo 🤣 the collar makes it a lot softer! Way quieter than any neighbor dog!

I hate that roos are such a noise issue for people but it’s OK for some dogs to bark incessantly. They don’t crow anymore than a dog usually barks!

The “ No Crow” collar, it works, until they figure out to loosen or remove it. Mine did.

What exactly are the benefits to having a rooster? I have 9 girls and I have never seen the need for one.

Not a chicken owner but I'm curious, couldn't the roosters just be grown into meat birds instead of culling them when young?
