If you are using the tool you shouldn’t need to heat the line. I use FMSI and Dorman fittings.

S.U.R.R only way to go been using them for ever. and that 3800 gm all leaked when pushed on that fitting all the time. Been tech 24 yrs

honestly prefer a heat gun when in cramped areas heat slightly and press in until the barb is seated entirely. but the tool is great when there's room
