From Monday to Friday, I would wear my work uniform to my part-time job, facing various dating advances or hints from male colleagues and my boss. Surprised yet resolute, I turned them all down. No one knew about my family background, no one knew where I came from. Back then, I was like a breeze, coming and going without a trace, never allowing any ambiguous feelings to arise between my male colleagues or boss and me. Reflecting on it now, it wasn’t that I was aloof—rather, I had unknowingly always adhered to my parents’ teachings:
