Thanks for the reply Dylan. I’ve done it with silage first then grain, just wondered the difference. As you said mixing time is important.

Reel mixers are good at not mixing, we’ve had better luck with a 4 auger machine, looks like you have an auger mixer

We start with grain first just in case we put too much on it’s a lot easier to dump a bit without the silage in there!

We normally put 2k lb of corn silage in and then grain then the rest of the silage. That way it’s more accurate adding grain and better mix I think
