@alliedition: TRANSPARENCY POST My wedding day was one of the best days of my life with so many dreams fulfilled, but it was also in the midst of the hardest season. In the two months prior to my wedding, my mom was fighting for her life from covid in the ICU. The stress of those two months, daily praying that my mom would survive, the loneliness of not being able to talk to her while I prepared for it all, and the meager hope I held onto that she would be able to attend my wedding, left me in daily tears and crippling anxiety. Then throw in the usual stress of wedding planning, topped with multi-cultural challenges due to the nature of having a “blended” wedding, and I hit my lowest. Those days just before the wedding were filled with extreme sadness, frustration, a ridiculous amount of crying, and anxiety attacks. Ultimately I’m so grateful that I married the man of my dreams, my mom is still alive 🙌🏼, and the people who showed up and loved me through all of that beyond what I could have imagined. God is so good.
