I always would apologize when I cried in therapy but since the recent passing of my grandfather, I cry a lot with my therapist. She welcomes it.

When I cry I start to apologize and my therapist says “you have never been allowed to cry in your life; but now you are. stop apologizing and cry”

i RARELY cry in therapy but if I did I asked her to turn around so she wouldn’t see me. i always secretly wished for a hug after, never happened tho

As a client, I’ve seen >10 therapists. I’ve actually cried exactly once. (Recently) My current T is safe in a way that is powerful for me.

I cry most sessions. Tho fewer intense meltdowns. I’m ok with crying but it’s a relief that it’s easing up. Thankful for my therapist being there.

Totally agree. And when we hold the space for clients it does start the healing process. I have tissue present but never pass it.
