@parentinginprocess: Parenting is a relationship, not a transaction. I totally understand seeking practical tips for the day to day interactions with your kiddos. But if we want tips that serve us and our kids in the short and long term, it’s important that we keep our relationship as the jumping off point for our interactions, not the other way around. When we can be in right relationship with our kiddos, when we can BE their answer, there becomes so many ways to “do” the right thing. I know this kind of advice can feel frustrating, especially in a world where there are so many 5 step programs and quick fixes. I know that it can feel like a super round about way of talking about parenting. But attachment, relationship, and learning to be the bigger, stronger, wiser, and kind parent to your kiddos is key to knowing how to “do” parenting. Learning to “be” sadly can’t be condensed down to one post, one video, one reel.
