@meggrowsplants: I always sacrifice a few of my overwintered brassicas (in this case bok choy) and let them flower, for the bees! These are the only flowers besides pansies and daffodils in the garden right now, and I think the bees prefer the tiny, easy to access flowers that brassicas have!
