@heresyourbite: Make this once and you’ll never buy a jar again! 🍝 The recipe is from @nytcooking and it’s the ONLY one you’ll ever need: 28 oz San Marzano whole tomatoes 8 garlic cloves, sliced thinly 1/4 cup EVOO Red pepper flakes Salt Fresh basil 1. Pour tomatoes into a large bowl and crush with your hands. Add a cup of water into your empty can and swish it around to get the leftover juices. 2. In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Add in your garlic. 3. Once you hear the garlic sizzle, pour in your crushed tomatoes and reserved water (immediately, you don’t want the garlic to brown). Season with salt and red pepper. Stir. 4. Place your basil directly on top of the sauce and don’t touch it. Let it naturally wilt then stir into your sauce. Simmer for 30min. 5. Discard basil and adjust seasoning.
