No, no and NO. ❇️Like all sharks, the megalodon was a cartilaginous fish, only very large, up to 15 m in length. With such dimensions, part of its skeleton was calcified during its lifetime, and therefore one sometimes can come across fragments of skull bones or, most often, vertebrae. However, as a rule, nothing remains of the skeleton. Only teeth successfully resist the passage of time. ❇️Megalodon teeth are huge. The average size is about 12-13 cm, but there are specimens up to 19 cm long. By the way, the size of the teeth is measured diagonally. When inscribing a tooth in a triangle, its length will be the interval from the bottom corner to the top. The megalodon had about 250 such teeth. Like other sharks, it had its teeth arranged in several rows, so that a new tooth could quickly replaced the lost one, and this continued throughout life. ❇️Megalodon teeth are beautiful. Large size, harmonious proportions, characteristic serrated edge and unusual coloration make them aesthetically appealing. The tooth plate and the base of the tooth have a different color, often contrasting. This is because the enamel that used to cover the tooth remains in deposits longer and is eventually replaced by other minerals than the enamelless base of the tooth. Common colors of the teeth are gray fading to black; red, like rust; beige. Among other rare fully black, blue, dark red, white. ❇️Megalodon teeth are ancient. Their age is within the framework of 2.6 to 23 million years. Large shark teeth are also found in older deposits, however they do not belong to the megalodon, but to its smaller (up to 10 m in length) predecessors from the genus Otodus. Most of the megalodon teeth found are small and damaged.
