There was a reaction with the old paint because the new paint basically couldn’t pair with it chemically. This happened to me with counter tops

I’ve refinished a claw foot before. There’s a super strong paint stripper that I used. Then you can put a finish on it like normal. It takes forever

Idk where you are but you need a spray refinish, it needs completely stripped of the old refinish coating and respirated

Th spray paint version from the same brand you used is wayyyy better. I tried the same as you in an rv trailer bathtub and it did something similar

There’s a tub kit on Amazon that works really well. You have to use a special toilet cleaner to prep the surface.

you cannot put oil or latex paint on a bathtub. you have to use spray paint or epoxy
