Replying to @chip Is it worth it? In my opinion, yes it might be gimmicky but I had the best time doing it. It was such a unique activity and I felt like a kid again. 🙏🏻 It wasn’t too expensive and they say you always regret the things that you don’t do rather the things that you do and I feel like that saying definitely applies in this case. 😝 If you don’t do these things, you might miss out on this experience! 🏎️🇯🇵 (especially the last one) 💻 Secure your spot by booking in advance. Because this activity is on a lot of peoples Tokyo bucket list it can get booked out quite far in advance. So if you absolutely don’t wanna miss out, I suggest booking at least a couple of months before you go. 🚦You can do this activity in several different locations all over Tokyo. In my opinion, I think the Shibuya location is the best not only because you’ll actually get to drive over the famous Shibuya crossing which makes it an even more unique experience!
🤙🏻 Safety first! Listen to the guides, follow the traffic rules, and respect other drivers on the road. At times the guide will do different hand gestures which means different things so make sure you are paying attention.
🌃 This might be a slightly biased opinion, but I highly suggest going at night time. I saw a couple of groups go in the daytime as I was walking around Tokyo and it just didn’t look as magical. ✨ 📸 You are not allowed to take any videos or pictures as you are driving because it is illegal BUT you can bring a GoPro and attach it to some of the carts or to yourself so you can make sure you capture every thrilling moment! 👜 There’s limited storage on the go-karts, so bring only the essentials. You will have to carry your passport with you as you are driving along with your driving permit so don’t forget both of these but don’t worry, all of the carts have a special pocket just to store these. 🙌🏻 You need to have a valid driving license to be able to do this activity. You will also more than likely need to get an international driving permit which you have to get before you leave your home country. If you do not have these things you will not be able to drive in Japan so make sure to 📍SAVE this post so you don’t forget! And if you’ve got any more questions about this experience, then let me know in the comments! 🫶🏻 #tokyogokart #bucketlistadventures #traveltips #tokyodrift #japanbucketlist #japantraveltips
