@deplorableway: “Russia you will not believe what I just did” (still no escaping my history dumps— Archduke Franz Ferdinand of the Austro-Hungarian Empire was assassinated on June 28th, 1914 while in Sarajevo, previously owned by Austria-Hungary, now the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He was assassinated in a car of a motorcade via a gunshot wound to the jugular vein, fired by Bosnian Serb Gavrilo Princip. This event was considered the “spark” to the First World War, though WWI was motivated and ignited by several factors beyond it including the arms race between the United Kingdom and the German Empire and colonialism.
