For those who as not yet seen this pretty amazing phenomenon we spotted a Blanket Octopus! 🐙 This rare and mesmerizing creature is hardly ever seen in these waters, making this a truly unforgettable moment!Why are they rare Because they spend their entire lives living in the open ocean, they are rarely sighted so the Blanket Octopus continues to remain another mystery of the ocean.1. Deep-Sea Dweller – They usually live in open ocean waters, often at depths of hundreds of meters, making encounters near the surface extremely rare. 2. Solitary and Nomadic – Unlike some octopus species that stick to reefs or the seafloor, blanket octopuses are constantly on the move in the open ocean. 3. Extreme Sexual Dimorphism – Males are tiny (only about 2.4 cm), while females can grow up to 2 meters long. The huge difference in size means males are even harder to spot, and most sightings are of females. 4. Elusive Behavior – They don’t stay in one place for long and are excellent at avoiding predators, using their flowing membranes to appear larger and more intimidating. 5.
