@aymieandfamily: GOODBYE TEETH! Wow it’s been a week. Thank you guys for being patient, been focusing on animals this week ❤️ Penny has been through a lot with her teeth. Both the dogs got spayed/neutered, and they are doing well. With Penny’s teeth, we suspected it was a genetic problem as her bio brother had to get a full mouth extraction very young due to stomatitis and he’s a happy and typically cat without his teeth. When X-rays we’re done on Penny this time, things had progressed a lot since her last extractions. She had so much inflammation and swelling around her bones/jaw and the vet said she’s in a lot more pain that we thought. We were sent to a dental specialist and after further evaluation, we decided that the best thing for Penny would be the full mouth extraction. She had stomatitis, which is very painful, and many resorptions. Her teeth would most likely continue to get worse and she’s continue to be in pain if we left a few ok teeth, and they would most likely need to come out in the future. We didn’t want to put her through that, and we are so thankful that she’s healing so quickly! She struggled more after a recent teeth cleaning than she did after all her teeth came out! She ate the same day, and gobbled up her food. Just a few days out she’s grooming herself again, which she hadn’t been doing much in the past few months. She’s acting playful and extra loving. She’s already happier and she’s still got a ways to go to fully recover. Thank you guys for all the love!
