There used to be 3 different AC's that I think made sense. Normal, flat-footed (no dex) and touch (no armor).

I will agree if advantage is no longer given to melee attacks. That advantage, I believe, was meant to counteract dexterity AC.

I do something similar. but do keep in mind that natural armor is a bonus, so a positive dex mod should still be subtracted.

Tougher question. How about negative Dex? Those so clumsy that are usually easier to hit. Do they become harder to hit if denied Dex bonus?
