Tired of making the same thing for lunch every day? Try these TACO STICKS! They are a staple in our home for my kids at lunchtime. Let me know if you try! Ingredients: For the Dough: 1½ cups all-purpose flour ½ cup warm milk ¼ cup melted butter 1 Tbsp sugar 2 tsp active dry yeast ¾ tsp salt 1 lb ground beef 2-3 Tbsp taco seasoning ¼ cup water 8 string cheese sticks 1 egg for wash Instructions: * In a large bowl, combine the warm milk, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let stand for 5-10 minutes until foamy. * Once foamy, add 1 cup of flour, salt, and melted butter. Stir until well combined. * Gradually add remaining flour, about 2 tablespoons at a time, until the dough becomes smooth but not sticky (tacky is okay). * Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 2-3 minutes until elastic. * Place dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with plastic wrap or a clean kitchen towel. Let rise in a warm place for 45-60 minutes until doubled in size. * Preheat oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. * Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until no longer pink and drain excess fat * Add taco seasoning and water. Simmer for 5-7 minutes until most liquid is absorbed. * Remove from heat and let cool slightly. * Punch down the risen dough and divide into 8 equal pieces * Roll each piece into a rectangle about 4×2 inches and place about 1 Tbsp of taco meat in the center of each rectangle. Add a cheese stick on top of the meat. * Fold the dough over the filling, pinching edges to seal completely. * Place seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet and brush each taco stick with egg wash. * Bake for 15-18 minutes until golden brown and let cool for 5 minutes before serving #mealprep #easymeals #lifeofahomemaker #homemakerlife #weeklymealprep
