@_msvanity: To everybody who’s been contributing to the good of my mental health in 2023, I love you a little extra hard January 1 I was with a friend and I was explaining how miserable I was emotionally. My sole focus had been on all the unhealthy attachments I had with men and it was consuming me. I couldn’t let these attachments go and it was draining my mind, heart, spirit. Alllaat. I prayed heavy for God to release me from every unhealthy attachment ( this also included a best friend and some family ) and it felt like I was mourning everyone I’ve ever loved all at once ( mind you, last year a lot of these attachments I had already started slowly releasing myself from but this had to be the Final Cut or I knew I was going to keep suffering ) So I did. And it was a very sad and lonely process. But then God starting introducing new amazing people in my life, gave me new opportunities, opened new doors and now I’m not suffering in any kind of relationship. I just be like wow. I’m so thankful I FINALLY made the space for these new relationships. I’m happy to be surrounded by people who CHOOSE ME. And make sure you’re choosing people who don’t let you suffer in any way, no matter how comfortable you are, no matter how much you think you love them, no matter how much you think they love you, no matter how long you’ve known them, no matter if y’all went half on a kid, no matter how much DNA y’all share. And that goes both ways. I’ve caused tremendous amounts of pain and suffering and sometimes you are the reason you are mourning someone. But that’s life. We lose and gain all the time. So get yourself right first.
