It took three weeks of me modeling pressing the buttons before my girl pressed one on her own. Maybe start with treat or cookie? That's what I started with.

Were teaching our dog how to do this now, we are using the word paw since that's what he uses to shake and it'll transfer to his buttons so good luck to everyone out there!

Mine knows toy & outside. He uses his toy button on his own every time he gets a toy from his toy box & whenever I’m on a Zoom call. He used outside 1x and now refuses to touch it.

you hold the treat by the button and then when he paws at your hand and hits the button then you give him the toy and treat

NO TREATS during the training process.... all you're teaching him is that pressing a button gives him a treat. place the button next to the item. you press, hand him a toy and praise him &practice!
