@twosparkscc: I recieved my first Eagle feather at mh wedding. The next two feathers I recieved were the days my children were born. I keep each safe with immense appreciation and respect for what they represent and the connection they give me to my people and culture. Holding these wings I am overwhelmed with a sense of the honor and blessings they bring. Eagle parts and feathers have been used for religious and cultural purposes for centuries including healing, naming ceremonies and life achievements. As a reconnecting native in a matriarchal society, it is my turn to be the keeper of knowledge for my family. My turn to be the bridge between them and our culture.
