I wasnt allowed in the kitchen as a kid so the only time I found myself curious about what was going on in there was when my grandma was making cookies, even then I still had to wait for her to say I could have one. I get it, having kids in the kitchen is hard. Its messy, takes a lot longer, and can even be dangerous depending on the kid whats going on in there. But I didn’t get the chance to learn anything. Im so happy to live in the technology age for the sole reason I’ve been able to learn how to cook and bake from the internet (&a lot of trial and error) but…. I want different for my kids. I want them to feel welcomed and apart of every aspect of our home and to feel empowered to make delicious goodies and nourishing meals for themselves and their families one day. I love getting the chance to work alongside my toddler in the kitchen when he wants to and it has honestly become one of my favorite activities to do together. So many recipes I’m trying for the very first time with him helping and I cant help but think how cool it is that one day all of this will be second nature to him.
