@funeralbabe: Replying to @idodeath this something that never sat well with me. And never will. I remember when i first started, asking co-workers “how will i know where to go when i get there”..their response “next to the dumpsters” Not only do i find these setups to lack respect and dignity for our deceased but also it reflects the lengths and boundaries our society pushes to keep death a hidden, unseen topic. Its sad. #education #funeraldiretor

We only use the front door. All staff lines the path to say goodbye to the person/family and a special chime goes off. It’s absolutely beautiful.

I work for a funeral home. And yes, it sucks going out the back, but trust me. It’s incredibly uncomfortable and sad taking them out the front.

All the nursing homes I went to - and maybe it’s cause I worked NOC - they went out the front - just like they came in

Sometimes it’s to protect the living residents but they KNOW. I think a lot of older facilities keep death “hidden”

When I worked for Sunrise Senior Living we had a policy “they came in the front and that’s how they’ll leave”

the NH I worked at we would take the other residents to a different area and the deceased went out the front door or side entrance. never the back

I’d rather be picked up in the back by the dumpster than out front with an audience.

My daddy passed at a veterans hospital. All deceased left out the main door with an honor walk. It was beautiful and I’ll always be so thankful for it

I mean, it's not like they're thrown into the dumpster. People don't want a dead body wheeled out the front door. Especially if decomp

Same in Brisbane also, some nursing homes have dignity doors and are very nice areas to take a loved one into our care 🥰

When I worked in a long term care home the deceased went out the front door always the same door they walked in

The nursing home and hospice I work for takes them out the way they came in. Through the front door and I love that.

I understand how taking a deceased person out the back is disrespectful. On the flipside what about those going to the hospital who's family member

I worked at a nursing home and they always went out the front door, often with staff lining the halls.

I work for Hospice- and I think it’s important to continue to give dignity even in death. Most people wouldn’t want the world to see them slip
