#fyp #islamic_video #islam #muslim #arab #arabictiktok #History There’s been a deliberate effort to use the story of Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) to exaggerate — and at times fabricate — the narrative of anti-Black racism in the Arabian Peninsula, especially in the pre-Islamic era. While it’s true that Bilal was mistreated for accepting Islam, this was a fate shared by many companions, some of whom were tortured to death. In fact, among the companions were those who stated openly that Bilal was not tortured more severely than they were. Some even pointed out that Bilal had certain protections and status that others didn’t have — including fully Arab slaves from other clans. What’s often ignored is that Bilal himself was Arab on his father’s side and Abyssinian on his mother’s, which was not uncommon at the time. Many noblemen and enslaved individuals in Arabia had Arab fathers and Abyssinian mothers — Bilal was not unique in that regard. Yet somehow, he has been turned into the “poster child” for the entire perception of the slave class in pre-Islamic Arabia, which is a serious historical distortion. The story of Khabbab ibn al-Aratt — who received no protection, was tortured brutally, and bore permanent scars — directly challenges this oversimplified narrative.
