@wanderlustalley: 😳Japanese Restaurant Norms (part ✌️) 😅When you go to another country, naturally there’s going to be a lot of surprises! here are some other ones that caught me off guard (restaurant edition): __________________________ 👋🏼 Restaurant employees will all typically greet you with a “irasshaimase!” (You can respond with a hello or a nod/bow 🤵🏼Waiters don’t check up on you, you gotta flag them down! 🥤Water cups are VERY small 🙏 you say “itadakimasu” before eating your meal 🙅‍♀️A lot of places are strict on food modifications! There are some that will make exceptions for allergies but I’ve been to many that don’t 😅 🔥 It’s more respectful to eat right away because they want you to eat while it’s hot! 👀 don’t do the wasabi slurry 💴 when you want the check, you can cross your index fingers like an “X” 💸 There’s MANY places that do cash only 🙌put your card/cash in the money tray if there is one 🍚 they don’t put soy sauce on rice What’d I miss?😅 #japan #japantrip #japaneseculture #myjapan #culturetips #wanderlustalley #restaurant #wasabi #japanese
