@privatepracticeteacher: I’m a 2nd career professional meaning i worked in the private sector before becoming a teacher. In the private sector, exit interviews are pretty common for any employer seeking to improve their business and employees experience working there. New hires are a lot of work and business invest a lot of time and resources onboarding new employees, so employee retention is kind pf a big deal. So … why exactly is this not happening during a teacher crisis that could impact our entire economy?!?! 🤔😳 #privatepracticeteacher #professionalteacher #educationreform #teachercrisis #teacherretention #employeesatisfaction

They already know the answer. If it was formal data they would have to do something about it.

Our sup asked our staff how to retain teachers and then sent us a form to fill out. I left. Nobody cared even though I fully explained it.

Nailed it! Even when they collect exit interviews, I doubt highly they do anything with them. I got one upon retirement, not sure about quitting.

No exit interviews at my former school after eight teachers left in one year. Also when I told them I was leaving I wasn’t honest as to why…

I left teaching after 20 years. I did an exit interview where I was very candid and truthful. Bottom Line- they weren’t interested in what I had to sa

Admin care, at least the good ones do. We know why you’re leaving, and a lot of it is out of our control.

Exactly. My exit interview consisted of one question. Why are you leaving? You had to choose one from several responses and none of them had to do

No an unpopular opinion at all. We KNOW they don’t care 😅. Newer hires are cheaper anyway and it’s not like admin gives them any training so no harm

No field gives exit interviews. They just keep posting jobs and hiring people with a pulse.

Our district is bringing in teachers from around the world. This way they don’t have to pay them more. Get rid of the old “expensive teachers “
