Hey! I solved it differently. I rose both to the -1 power. So that a^1/2=x^-1 then I had a^1/2=1/x. Then I squared both sides to get a=1/x^2. This works because of multiplicative inverses and the power to a power is the same as multiplying the powers. I made a video on my page similar to this.
