To figure out how high to take your accent wall, my rule of thumb is just over halfway to the wall. I promise it’ll draw the eye up and make the space feel taller!! (My walls are 10 ft, so I do 5.5-6 ft) . 3. Adding the quarter round on-top of your baseboard prevents overhanging boards and gives a more clean and finished look to your wall. It’s worth it . 4. Go to inchcalculator.com and use their “wainscoting calculator” to figure out what size to cut your space board. The number of panels is the actual number of boxes you want your panels to create (it’s always one less than the number of vertical boards you want to use), the stile width is the width of the board 💡 REMEMBER: lumber is not actual in measurements-my 1x2 inch boards are actually 0.75x1.75 inches. . 5. When you are cutting your boards. Always cut just to the right of your marking.
