scratch the suit coat with your fingernail, if it has ridges (bumpity-bump), it's real. if it scratches FLAT, phony.

That’s why I ask for the newer ones. Because you can go over the jacket it has ridges and the blue strip you can a toothpick through two holes in it.

another check is the eyes, for the same reason as the numbers. the eyes will have a lifelike glint on the real bill.
