maybe because there is high waisted ones and low waist and obviously the low rise will have bigger opening for your hips

I just realized... it could be the style... like low waisted would usually be bigger cause it hugs the hips while high waisted would typically be smaller cuz it hugs the waist. it's still dumb tho
