@rebelunicorncrafts: Drafting tape is also sometimes called delicate surface tape. Also scotch tape was one of the biggest surprises I've had when testing watercolor stuff it creates such crisp lines, and it's more gentle than you'd expect! The more tapes I test the more I believe there's not just one right answer. Beginner here😁 and I stick the tape to my pants before I tape down the paper. The fluff from the pants makes it not too sticky. Still holds paper 👍

I use yellow frog, or Holbein soft. They both have great hold , masking, and lift tear free.
