Scent detection or nosework, is a trained skill and an activity where your dog is taught to search for a very particular odor. In civilian work, the odors they are linking for are with birch, anise, clove and even particular people; like their handler for instance. In police, military or security scent detection, the dogs can be trained to search for anything from illegal substances to missing people and everything in between. Nosework as an activity has so many positives as well. It can be done with dogs of any size, age, or breed. You can do it inside or outside and in any weather condition.
