@brit.the.skin.md: Skincare routine anatomy - overview of Step 2: actives. This is the portion of the routine that I customize the most. By being intentional with your skin health and goals, you can curate a few active ingredient treatment products to help you achieve the results you want. Usually I categorize these products by goals: 1. Hyperpigmentation - brightening the complexion and evening tone 2. Prejuvenation - preventing the onset of the signs of aging and sun damage 3. Acne or rosacea minimization - improving overall complexion 4. Aging - reducing fine lines and wrinkles Of course there is a TON of overlap among these categories (for instance, many hyperpigmentation products are also great at minimizing acne) and many people have more than one goal.
