@refurbishedish: If I had to choose, these are my top 5 must have items! 1. An orbital sander is a MUST! This will cut your prep time into a fraction of what it would be if you were hand sanding. I suggest Bosch and Surfprep orbitals. 2. A degreasing cleaner is essential to stripping old oils and dirt off of your piece! I love Simple Green and Melange Anvil. 3. My go-to wood fillers are All Purpose Bondo and Bondo Spot & Glazing Putty. There is a bit of a learning curve to both, so if you’re looking for beginner-friendly, I’d go with MinWax Stainable Wood Filler. 4. PPE!! Arguably the most important supplies that you’ll need. I suggest getting a good respirator, chemical-resistant gloves, eye protection, and ear protection. 5. High quality paint can be pricy, but it can be so worth it when it comes to saving on time. I lost count of how many times I’ve redone a piece because I used cheap or low-quality paint. After lots of trial and error, I use Melange One and Wise Owl One Hour Enamel!
