@allycarterfit: When you first go to the gym, its hard. Your lifting weights and doing movements you have never done before. Overtime, it gets easier.. thats where most people go wrong. Instead of then progressing their workouts to make them harder, they stick to what is comfortable. If your getting through your workout comfortably and barely are sturggling, you need to put in some more effort. You are so much stronger than you think. Ask yourself, could i actually do 1-2 more reps if i really tried? If the answer is yes, go for it.
