STEAMED MUSSEL CATCH AND COOK ⚠️DO NOT ATTEMPT ANYTHING YOU SEE IN THE FIRST PORTION OF THE VIDEO UNLESS CONDITIONS ARE SAFE ⚠️ About a year ago at this very spot a couple started yelling for help, they were deep in the water. Without hesitation I dove in after them. I’ve been a strong swimmer ever since I’m little, I figured this would be cake. When I got to the couple, the woman started pushing me under because she was gasping for air. To be fair, her face was bright red. The panic in here eyes were as clear as the water. I tried to get her to the shore but along the way she kept pushing me under. I was able to hand her off to some friends, but once I started to swim in I was too weak. My vision started to blur, I was drowning. As the ocean pulled me out, I truly thought those were my final moments. Thankfully, two of my friends came in after me and carried me to safety. Ever since then, coming to this spot gives me extreme anxiety. The flashbacks are always coming. I CANNOT resist the size of those mussels though. They make it all worth it. Without further ado, here’s the recipe. RECIPE: 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil 2 Tablespoons Butter 1 Diced Onion 4 Tablespoons Minced Garlic (From here I eye everything) Paprika Chicken Stock Heavy Heavy Whipping Cream Lots of Salt Black Pepper Lemon Juice Wild Mussels Parsley Let the onions simmer in the butter until nearly golden brown. The mixture will come to a slow boil after the chicken stock and heavy heavy whipping cream is added. Once the stock is boiling, add your mussels. Let them steam for 8-10 minutes and enjoy. The mussels go great with pasta (tortellini was not the best, I’d go with buttery Rigatoni in the future) or garlic bread! Comment what you want me to catch and cook next! 🎣 🍳
