None of these have helped me. I’ve been unemployed for over three months; recruiters never respond, I have no network. Rejection is killing my spirit.

I was playing this game of optimizing Linkedin... End up with a personal website and blog. And still nothing 🫠

I find a lot of managers to be stand-offish on LinkedIn or they don’t reply. (In in my field any way). Academia folks can be so snobby!

I have a lot of 1st degree connections, but they don’t know or share with me any open roles I’m looking for. Most don’t answer either 😕

Is there a way to secretly put “open to work” without letting your employer see it?

Arthur is ok. This is what a febrile convulsion may look like. Not all will look the same, but video footage like this can be helpful for parents to get an idea about what it might look and sound like, so that they can take quick action at home. This AMAZING family stayed calm, called an ambulance and kept their little boy safe. They have also shared this footage and Arthurs story to help educate others: “I think this was sadly his fifth (febrile convulsion) and I have had first aid training a couple of times so by the time this one came around I knew what to do and knew he wasn’t necessarily in danger.  He had to have 2 doses of Midazolam* to make this seizure stop completely so he was very very very sleepy, they also struggled to stabilise his airway as the midaz always almost stops his breathing so we got sent to ICU for monitoring.  He also wakes up with Todd’s paresis** on his left side. He had a neonatal stroke and has subsequent brain damage to his occipital lobe which our Neurologist has said probably contributes to the seizure activity and the Todd’s paresis only being on the one side of his body mostly. So his seizures and recovery may be a little different to a ‘normal’ child.  It might be helpful to parents to know they can still be conscious, or even float somewhere in between. This is the only seizure he had been able to semi respond to me (moving his eyes and head, and wanting to hold my hand)  which even took me by surprise even if it’s not noticeable in the video.” *Midazolam is a medication that is commonly used as emergency treatment for seizures. It is only used when the convulsion has lasted longer than 5 minutes. ** Todd’s paresis is a common syndrome associated with weakness or paralysis in part or all of the body after a seizure. I have a follow up post coming to educate you on what to do if your child has a febrile convulsion. Stay tuned. #febrileseizure #febrileseizureawareness #febrileconvulsion #febrileconvulsions #febrileseizures
