I Made A Worm Farm, pt 2 🪱 Worms eat food scraps, and turn it into nutrient-rich worm castings, also known as POOP. To get started, you'll need three buckets: -one with holes drilled in the bottom for drainage, -one to catch the excess liquid that drains out, -one to hold the worms and compost. The one with holes is your worm bucket and should be filled with shredded newspaper, soil, mulch, egg shells, coffee grounds - anything from the kitchen that would otherwise be compost! The ones without holes go on the top and bottom. The bottom bucket will catch the worm poop. The top bucket will start to sink down as the worms eat the scraps. The excess liquid that drains out of the worm bucket into the bottom bucket is called "worm tea," and it's a nutrient-rich liquid fertilizer that can be used to water your plants. After a few months, your worm poop can be used to fertilize your garden. So, go ahead and give it a try! Start your own worm farm and watch as these little composting machines transform your kitchen scraps into garden gold. Your plants (and the planet) will thank you! #howtowithjessie #worms #compost #plants
