@untoldmysteries: Rasheem Carter (25) severed skull was found in a wooded area in Mississippi after being reported missing for a month. Rasheem Carter (welder), received a short term contract in 2022 as a contractor in Taylorsville, MS. Several contractors, as well as Rasheem were from out of state and resided at a hotel 20 miles near the job site. On Oct 1st, 2022 Rasheem texted his mother (Tiffany Carter) expressing he feared for his life. Rasheem stated “Me and the owner of this company are not seeing eye to eye” and “If anything happens to me [unknown suspect] is responsible for it… he got these guys wanting to kill me.” The police have not yet mentioned to the public who the possible suspect is. Rasheem also informed his mother he was recently chased down by “three truckloads of white guys trying to kill him.” His mother urged him to contact the police, and on two separate occasions Rasheem visited the Taylorsville Police Department. It’s believed that Rasheem asked officers for a ride back to his hometown Layfette. MS but was turned down. On Oct. 2nd, his family filed a missing persons report after contacting him all day, but never receiving a response. Rasheem was spotted on a deer trail the same day, he was shirtless, appeared to be carrying a large branch, and covered in bruises. The police did not suspect foul play, but after two weeks an investigation was opened and handed to the Smith County Sheriff’s Department. On Nov. 2nd, 2022 Rasheem Carter’s skeletal remains were discovered in a wooded area (Taylorsville, MS) about 300 yards from where he was captured by the trail surveillance. Rasheem’s spinal chord was also found in another nearby wooded area. Police believe animals/insects could be the reason for the way Rasheem’s remains were found. The family has now called on the justice department to help assist with this case.
