dunno what it's like over your way, but the top.amd bottom of door should be painted. good tradesmen paint the door

same problem but on the vertical knob side-with the CA rain and house settling.. may end up sanding the hinge grooves.

Wedge a drill bit in the top hinge, close the door, release it and then check the door. Increase the drill bit size if it still catches.
